Fall sneaked up on me and thwapped me in the face. We are already halfway through September! My grand idea of putting together an online, Free Things To Do In Fall In Walkable Seattle got back-burnered. I have a ton of excuses, like filling out loads of school paperwork, packing lunches, sneaking out copious bags to Goodwill, while my children are not around to catch me. I could have written an entire blog post while sitting on hold with the Seattle School District Transportation Department. All excuses (and the siren song of Netflix) aside, I have managed to compose a list of free activities for the remainder of September.
Salmon Homecoming
Seattle Waterfront Park
September 14th and 15th
10:00am-9:00pm
The return of our Seattle weather seems a perfect compliment to the Salmon Homecoming. Grab an umbrella (Yeah, I know, Seattleites have a weird thing about umbrellas). Grab your Patagonia and head down to the Seattle waterfront to celebrate the 26th annual Salmon Homecoming. I'll be honest, I've never attended this before, but I'll be heading down there today and tomorrow for some traditional music, activities, arts and crafts and food!. There will be a salmon bake, coastal singing and dance, a canoe welcoming ceremony and more. Check out the schedule of events for more information.
